Our Favorite Restaurants

Rene's at Popp's Resort is a long-time favorite of the Crivitz locals and our top choice. There is a spacious and comfortable dining room that serves a variety of entrees - most popular are their sizzling steaks. The have a great homemade soup and salad bar. Dinner and cocktails are served 7 nights a week and free wireless Internet is available. They have wonderful barkeepers and make excellent ice cream after dinner drinks! Yum! Do not be dismayed if you see a lot of cars! They can handle a crowd with ease! Phone: 715-757-3411 – reservations suggested, required on busy weekends. Hours: Monday-Friday bar opens at 4:30pm and dinner starts at 5:00pm / Saturday bar opens at 11:00am, lunch in the bar at noon, dinner starts at 5:00pm / Sunday bar opens 11:00am and full menu lunch and dinner starts at noon. From Peshtigo River Ln turn left onto Parkway, then a left onto County Hwy-X. Rene's is just around the bend on your left.

Dock Side Bar & Grill is just across the river serving a hearty casual breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as a Friday night Fish Fry. Arrive by car, boat, or snowmobile and enjoy food and cocktails on the waterfront or in the air conditioned indoor dining area. Karaoke some nights. Ice cream novelties. Billiards. Annual Polar Bear Plunge on New Year's Day. Up Peshtigo River Lane, turn right onto Parkway, and then turn right onto Eagle Rd. Dockside is ahead on your right. 12327 Eagle Rd, Crivitz: 715-757-3244

Hilltop Resort Supper Club and Sports Bar serves dinner daily. Good soup & salad bar, homemade pizza, and specials including Friday Fish Fry, Prime Rib, and Taco Tuesdays – call for the latest. Like many area restaurants, on busy nights, they take your food order in the bar area and then seat you when they're close to being ready to serve you. Hours: the bar opens at 4:00 pm on weekdays and 11:00 am on weekends. Dinner served 5pm-10pm daily. Phone: 715-757-3522 Turn left onto Parkway Road, they're 1.5 miles ahead on the right.

Big Dipper, on County Road X, by Vacation Fun Park, is typically open 11am–10pm. They offer a variety of ice cream products, cones, dishes, sundaes, slushies, root beer on tap, as well as burgers, hot dogs, snacks, and more. A great place for lunch. 715-757-2202

Iceburg is a soft-serve ice cream parlor, typically open 11am–7pm. They serve pizza, “baskets” and burgers. Downtown Crivitz - 514 Louisa Street. Phone: 715-854-3200

Cousins Subs/Figaro's Pizza offers a variety of hot and cold subs over the counter style and also build-your-own and specialty pizza with multiple choices of crust. Caldron Falls Bar and Grill offers sandwiches, appetizers, soups, and pizza. Free billiards on Thursdays. They're locally famous for their annual hog wrestling competition in July. Phone: 715-757-3467 Turn left onto Parkway; they're on the right: W12326 Parkway Road.

Country Convenience, on the corner of County Road X and Kottke Road, sells donuts and other baked goods as well as sandwiches to go. Open 6:30am–8pm in the summer. Check with them on winter hours at 715-757-3629

DeSmidt's Golf Course and Country Club's Clubhouse is known for their prime rib. They also offer an all-you-can-eat Friday Fish Fry, Chicken to Go, and happy hour (for food and drink) every day from 3pm-4:30pm. Closed in winter. Gateway Bar and Grill is a traditional sports bar restaurant serving homemade pizza, sandwiches, snacks, and other entrees. Open 7:00am-2:30am, Monday-Sunday. Phone: 715-854-7943 At the junction of County Road W & Rt. 141 in downtown Crivitz.

Lakeside Bar & Grill is a casual restaurant serving good homemade pizza, all kinds of appetizers to share and a Friday night fish fry. Wednesdays they have a BBQ rib special. Other specials other nights. Phone: 715-757-2122. Closed Tuesdays. N11120 Newton Lake Road, Athelstane. Turn right onto Parkway, right again onto Eagle Road and follow it to the end. Right onto Deer Lake, then a left on Molly Four Road. It is just ahead on the corner at Newton Lake Road.

Newingham's in Wausaukee is worth a stop if you are in that area for antiquing or visiting the waterfalls. Cowboy theme. Closed Monday & Tuesdays, open 11am other days. They are right on Rt. 141, although the address is 722 Main St. 715-856-5966.

Subway is located within/attached to the Piggly Wiggly in downtown Crivitz on Rt. 141. Open daily, usually 7am–10pm. Phone: 715-854-8228

Twin Bridge Resort Supper Club is a very casual restaurant, offers steaks, chops, and seafood buffets as well as Mexican dishes Sunday through Thursday. We like their breakfast buffet (with great Bloody Mary's) on weekends. Phone: 715-757-3651 Left onto Parkway – it's about 2.5 miles ahead on your right: N9661 Parkway Rd., Crivitz

Wood's Dining and Spirits is huge. They serve a variety of entrees, Friday fish fry, chicken to go and Sunday Brunch. Call on weekends though; they often have weddings or banquets. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Phone: 715-757-3047 Turn left onto Parkway, left onto X. You'll pass Popp's, Rene's, and Sportsman Cafe. At the corner of X and Kottke Road, by Country Convenience, go straight. They're ahead on the left.

Tall Oaks General Store offers everything from hardware and plumbing supplies to groceries like milk and snacks. Open 7am-7pm Sun–Thu and 7am-9pm Fri-Sat. N10008 Parkway Road, Crivitz. Phone: 715-757-3238

Parks Cheese and Candy is a specialty grocery store in Downtown Crivitz. They are open Mon-Thu and Sat–Sun from 10am-5pm and on Fri from 10am-6pm. 915 N US Highway 141, Crivitz: 715-854-3170

Ranger City Marketplace provides restaurants throughout the area with premium quality steaks, seafood, pork and chicken, as well as frozen prepped appetizers, entrees, side dishes and desserts. Their retail store is the place to go to stock up for easy meals here or to take home and fill your freezer. Typically closed Sunday & Monday. Opens 9am, closing times vary. Local Food/Farmer's Markets

The Crivitz Flea and Farmer's Market offers handmade arts and crafts, antiques, collectibles, and more. It operates Thursdays May 21-Sept 3 8am-4pm. 800 Henriette Ave, Crivitz, 715-854-2030

Thunder Mountain Oil House and Specialty Foods sells gourmet products that aren't readily available at regular grocery stores such as olive oils, balsamic, sugars, salts, spices, mustards, marinades and more. 709 Dyer Street, Crivitz, 715-854-5011

Wojkiewicz Strawberry Acres, located 5 miles west of Crivitz allows you to pick your own strawberries starting in mid June. Just take Hwy W to Hideaway Lane. 715-854-7818 Fresh Asparagus is $2 per pound in the Coleman area seasonally. Call 920-246-6655 or 920-246-5845 for more information.

There is a Farmers Market on historical downtown Main Street in Oconto on Saturdays from 8am-noon, mid June through October. They sell organic food, local specialties, fruits, vegetables, and crafts.
